Dr. Christina Rahm, Healthcare Executive, Entrepreneur, Scientific Formulator, Patent Innovator & Author
Hello Pure Living Nashville readers! My name is Dr. Christina Rahm, and I am thrilled to collaborate with Pure Living Nashville as a guest columnist. I have lived in Nashville for more than nineteen years, working on the corporate side of medicine in both the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries as a scientific researcher and formulator. I have also worked with several Nashville-based, healthcare-driven companies: CMT Holdings, Cure The Causes, DOC and DC2 Holdings, the International Science and Nutrition Society, and now The ROOT Brands.
As I have grown in my career while having bouts of illnesses with both Limes Disease and Cancer, I obviously relied on physicians and surgeons who provided comprehensive evidence-based medical care and disciplines. As my education continued to expand at both Harvard and Cornell in both nanobiotechnology and nutrition, my view of evidence-based medicine has evolved. I now approach health/medical, and healing, with a more holistic, integrated view by coupling the evidence-based disciplines with multiple alternative and homeopathic approaches not only for myself but my children. As a mother of four, I am consistently focused on the best healthcare options to keep us healthy, safe, and growing through this life, which can be increasingly complicated. I have found the disciplines of nutrition, meditation, exercise, friendships and more importantly my spiritual focus, keep me balanced. By taking a synergistic approach to health and wellness, while combining years of scientific, evidence-based research with nutraceutical-driven properties, I can say my health, and my children’s health, have not been this good in many years.

With that said, this is the first of several guest columns in which I will collaborate with Pure Living Nashville, a publication that I have been a fan of for a long time. I read the articles and information which give a myriad of insight on simple health, wellbeing, sustainability, and conscious living disciplines, all of which is a focus I have evolved into and live daily. As I sat down to write this first column, I thought about where I am today, where I want to be tomorrow and where I envision myself over the next few months. Obviously, with it being November and Thanksgiving around the corner, I cannot help but think about the blessings which have been bestowed upon myself, my husband, my children, and the wonderful friends and family which encompass my life. Those blessings inspire me daily to live my best, healthiest, life possible.

I have recently authored a book titled ‘Cure the Causes.’ I talk about living the life you want to live, and not the life you were prescribed. It is a journey of becoming healthy while getting rid of the toxicity in our lives, and not just the bio-chemical toxins in our bodies, but the toxicity around us. I discuss literally detoxing our guts, our skin, our brains and all the organs which reside beneath our skin. Without detoxing, our bodies cannot function as mechanically and physiologically created. Just like a car that has had no oil change or service, our bodies do not have a chance to live and function to its fullest potential unless we undertake a concerted focus on cleansing our bodies daily.
At this stage in life, I am more aware than ever of the environmental toxins which seep into our bodies. These environmental toxins include heavy metals, viruses, parasites, and fungus. We have a bustling city of cells living inside our bodies. We have good cells and bad cells. We need to protect our good cells and clean up the bad cells to better work in conjunction with each other.

Make no mistake, our cells are exposed daily to toxins in which I personally equate to unneeded trash. We would never dream of not taking the trash out of our homes, yet individuals do not think about trying to diminish the toxins (or taking the trash out) of their bodies. It is time for us to understand that just like trash builds up in a home, and needs to be purged, the toxins in our bodies also need to be purged. It is equally important to integrate pure and natural products into our system so that we detox, clean, and help those good cells flourish. Pure living is not just how we look and feel, but more about how our cells look, feel, and communicate with each other while discarding unnecessary environmental waste. I am excited to have this opportunity to contribute to Pure Living Nashville, as it is a perfect fit since I believe living pure is a goal that allows us to not only live beautifully on the outside but also, on the inside.
